Ç Toyota Motor Corporation áíáêïßíùóå ôï Valvematic, Ýíá ìç÷áíéóìü ìåôáâëçôÞò âýèéóçò âáëâßäùí ðïõ äçìéïýñãçóå óõíäõÜæïíôáò ôïí Ýîõðíï ìåôáâëçôü ÷ñïíéóìü âáëâßäùí VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent), ï ïðïßïò åëÝã÷åé óõíå÷þò ôï ÷ñïíéóìü áíïßãìáôïò-êëåéóßìáôïò ôùí âáëâßäùí åéóáãùãÞò, ìå Ýíá íÝï ìç÷áíéóìü ðïõ åëÝã÷åé óõíå÷þò ôç âýèéóç ôùí âáëâßäùí åéóáãùãÞò.

Åíþ ïé óõìâáôéêïß êéíçôÞñåò åëÝã÷ïõí ôïí áÝñá åéóáãùãÞò ÷ñçóéìïðïéþíôáò ìßá ðåôáëïýäá ãêáæéïý, ôï Valvematic ñõèìßæåé ôçí ðïóüôçôá ôïõ åéóåñ÷üìåíïõ áÝñá ìå óõíå÷Þ Ýëåã÷ï ôçò âýèéóçò êáé ôïõ ÷ñïíéóìïý áíïßãìáôïò-êëåéóßìáôïò ôùí âáëâßäùí åéóáãùãÞò. Áõôü äéáóöáëßæåé âÝëôéóôá ÷áñáêôçñéóôéêÜ ìå âÜóç ôç ëåéôïõñãéêÞ êáôÜóôáóç ôïõ êéíçôÞñá, âïçèþíôáò åðïìÝíùò ôï ü÷çìá íá åðéôý÷åé êáé õøçëÞ áðüäïóç êáõóßìïõ êáé äõíáìéêÝò åðéäüóåéò.

Óôçí ðåñßðôùóç ôïõ íÝïõ êéíçôÞñá 2.0 ëßôñùí ðïõ äçìéïýñãçóå ç Toyota, ôï Valvematic -ðïõ åîåëßóóåé ðåñáéôÝñù ôïí âåíæéíïêéíçôÞñá- âåëôéþíåé ôçí áðüäïóç êáõóßìïõ êáôÜ 5%-10% (áíÜëïãá ìå ôéò ïäçãéêÝò óõíèÞêåò), ìåéþíåé ôéò åêðïìðÝò CO2, áõîÜíåé ôçí éó÷ý êáôÜ ôïõëÜ÷éóôïí 10% êáé âåëôéþíåé ôçí áðüêñéóç êáôÜ ôçí åðéôÜ÷õíóç. Ç TMC ó÷åäéÜæåé íá ëáíóÜñåé ôï ìç÷áíéóìü Valvematic óýíôïìá, îåêéíþíôáò ìå Ýíá íÝï ìïíôÝëï ìå êéíçôÞñá 2.0-ëßôñùí.

Óôï ðëáßóéï ôùí ðñïóðáèåéþí ôçò ãéá ôç ìåßùóç ôùí åêðïìðþí CO2 ìÝóá áðü ôçí õøçëÞ áðüäïóç êáõóßìïõ êáé ãéá ôçí åðßôåõîç êáèáñüôåñùí åêðïìðþí ñýðùí, ç TMC ó÷åäéÜæåé íá áíáâáèìßóåé ðëÞñùò ôç ãêÜìá âåíæéíïêéíçôÞñùí êáé êéâùôßùí ôçò ìÝ÷ñé ôï 2010.
